Well you may have already found that we sound a little different than a lot of the stations out there, maybe that’s why you’re here. We sound different because we are!
Officially we’re classified as an Adult Album Alternative (AAA) station. What does that mean you ask? Well I’ll tell you. It means we play a lot of wicked stuff, including 'forgotten' songs by a lot of mainstream artists, as well as really great B sides, and outstanding music by people you've never heard of.
Confused yet? So are we. But our listeners tell us they really like our mix! But here’s the trick, we actually choose what we play! Every week students can submit and vote on what we should play through our music committee.
We're always looking for new stuff so if you want to submit a group or song we’d love to hear from you.
It doesn't happen often, but every once in awhile we all get just a little star struck.
Yesterday, I had a pretty bad episode.
Mr. Alice Cooper (seriously), did a signing at Scrape Records on East Broadway, providing hundreds of Cooper junkies an opportunity to meet the original shock rocker. And I was lucky enough to be one of the first amongst them.
Not to ruin his cred, but Mr. Cooper, decked out in leathers and only a modest amount of eyeliner, was candid and humble; genuinely pleased to meet his legions of fans.
The crowd lined the street, waiting with bated breath for their 10 seconds, clutching thier prized Cooper merch tightly.

Though my time with Alice was brief (yes, I'd consider us on a first name basis), it was indeed memorable, and will go down as one of the single best moments of my music junkie career.
Oh yeah, did I mention I brought my mom?
Alice Cooper's new album Along Came A Spider is in stores now.
Cooper plays the Centre of the Performing Arts Thursday September 18th and Friday September 19th.
