A Brief History of Evolution

The BCIT radio program started 44 years ago with only a few classrooms and 25 or so students. It was one of seven departments when the school opened it's doors. We had a state-of-the-art McCurdy audio console. And for a small period of time we even had an AM transmitter (650AM) that could fill an entire parking lot! Our CFML had a MOR ( Middle of the road ) format which was nice and all, but for us students, the format missed an opportunity and a demographic - us. We aired the music, but were we listing? Four years ago we leaped into a new way of thinking, new sound and a new name. Evolution was born with a new AAA (Adult Album Alternative ) format. and two years later we started our FM broadcast on 107.9FM. And shortly after, put streaming audio on the website.
